This film shows a family leaving to go on holiday to France, Switzerland and Italy by car and train.

This colour film opens with a family leaving to go on holiday to tour France, Switzerland and Italy. The family pack their belongings on top of the car (FPA 322) and head off. On arrival at their first destination in France, they pass through a busy town lined with restaurants and hotels. The family explore the countryside, capturing panoramic views of the landscape as a freight train with tender passes through the shot. On a rural landscape in the Swiss Alps, snow covers the landscape followed by views of the Hotel Bellevue des Alpes (?) in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.

The next sequence shows the family boarding a train (?) at a platform, and touring the landscape aboard a boat on a river. The film-maker captures wide views of several river banks bordering a lake with palatial buildings and villas scattered on the hill tops (possibly on a lake between Switzerland and Italy?).

On a busy street outside a hotel a man ties the families luggage onto the car (not wearing any shoes - these are on the step of the car?). Views of a circular timber and chrome structure (tram stop shelter ?) on a street, followed by shots of the ornate gothic cathedral in Milan (Duomo de Milano), with cafe's and shops on a piazza. Coastal views of a bay and the landscape from the top of a hill, are followed by views of boats in a harbour and villas on a hillside. The family sunbathe, snorkel and swim in the sea below their villa. Mixed views of the rocky hill side and boats in the harbour. The family visit a (French ?) Renaissance-style chateau, with sprawling exterior double staircase and gardens. At a busy ferry port, the camera captures views of ships and freight trains moving about in the port. Aboard a ship, the camera captures views of the harbour as the family leave France (?) to make their way home. The final shots in the sequence are of the family aboard the ferry offering views of the Kent coast with chalk cliffs at Dover (?) as the ship comes into Port.

The final brief film is of an interior shot of a model building on a table or display mount (?) and several pigeons eating seed in a stone bird bath in a garden.
